Who are we ?

  • The association

Russie-Libertés is a French non-profit association established under the French Law of 1901, whose mission is to defend human rights and to inform and raise awareness among the French and European public about the state of human rights and freedoms in Russia.

Founded in Paris in 2012 by committed citizens, Russie-Libertés represents the voice of Russian civil society in France and across Europe. Our association is independent and does not represent any political party or political movement. We act, always peacefully and transparently, to support the development of the rule of law in Russia.

Russie-Libertés firmly opposes the war in Ukraine. We support non-violent Russian anti-war movements and advocate for those responsible for this aggression and for war crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine to be brought to justice. We counter Kremlin propaganda by supporting opponents of the war, as well as independent Russian journalists and artists.
